Or, why Music Festivals Suck
(in general).
I’ve always felt this way about music festivals. I don’t really understand them. The sound is crap outdoors; nobody that I really want to see plays a full set because they have to let other bands (that I don’t want to see) play as well. And the crowds suck. I’m not saying they never works, and it might just be my opinion, but there you have it.
Festivals are the new radio show. Do a few and you can’t tour independently, i.e. on your own. You fatten the coffers of the promoter, but you fuck your own career…
Do you want to mix your Sweet Sixteen with a Bar Mitzvah party? Do you want a vacation where you can bowl, surf and ski? Come on. Have a little self-respect.
