Stargate Studios Reel

I’ve long been interested in special effects, digital compositing, CGI, etc. There’s something really fun about knowing how things have been pulled off.
At the same time, the film industry is getting so good, that I’m starting to find myself disappointed when I learn that a fairly benign scene (a.k.a. not obviously an f/x scene) wasn’t actually shot on location. It feels like cheating.
That said, this reel is amazing. You have to watch it closely to catch everything, but wow. And there’s some good background info on Stargate over at the Vimeo page.

…and it’s been pulled. I’d really love to know the rational behind whoever issues these DMCA takedown notices. Sigh.
